In July 2014 I had the pleasure of discussing economic development with legislative representatives of the Council of State Governments, Midwest region.  These leaders were interested in learning about the role the University can play in moving the economy forward.  Short answer– a great deal, but it requires innovative programs and a change in thinking among University leaders.  How the learning environment will change in the next decade is an important topic for leaders in education and government.  Here is a pdf of my slides, the last 4 are most notable: J Linder 2014 CSG
